Balade à Schmitten / A walk in Schmitten

Il y a quelques jours nous sommes allés nous promener à Schmitten, à une quinzaine de kilomètres de chez nous. Il faisait un peu froid mais le soleil qui jouait à cache-cache avec les nuages nous réchauffait un peu.

Schmitten, c'est en fait plusieurs villages regroupés en une seule commune, tous situés dans des vallées, dans la chaîne du Taunus. Tu as les maisons, la rivière en bas, et la montagne recouverte de forêts en haut.

A few days ago, we drove to Schmitten, some 15 km away from Oberursel, and had a walk. It was a cold day but the sun, playing hide and seek with the clouds, warmed us up. Schmitten is a groupement of villages in one township, all of them being in valleys in the Taunus Mountains. You have the houses, the river below and the forested mountains above.

Schmitten est jumelée avec un groupement de communes de l'Orne,
 tout près de chez ma grand-mère. Les coïncidences sont quand- même parfois bien grandes.
Schmitten is paired with a township in France, near the town where my grand-mother lives.
What a coincidence! 

Etre au grand air, sans la pollution, c'est bien agréable!
 Il y a de nombreux chemins pour se promener dans la nature.
Being outside, with fresh air, no pollution, it's so good!
There are many trails to stroll in the nature.

Les enfants étaient fascinés par la rivière.
Un petit moment d'observation avec papa et maman, mais pas de repos...
On a bien cru que Sophie allait se jeter dans l'eau!

We thought many times that Sophie would throw herself in the water!

La forêt est partout, les arbres sont immenses et leur variété est bien visible.
Bon, pas vraiment sur cette photo...

On y retournera aux beaux jours pour faire des randonnées!

We will go back when it will be Spring for small treks!
